May 2023 American Life: Some things about the month of May!
Thank you for visiting our blog! Although the month of May is almost over. We hope you all had a great Golden Week. We have been hearing some interesting stories. Thank you for telling us. In Japan we have Golden Week and Mother’s Day. America doesn’t have a Golden Week. I wish it did though. But America does celebrate Mother’s Day on the same day as Japan. Today I just want to talk a little about May in America. It is an easy-to-overlook month but it is fun and one of the first months where people start doing outdoor activities.
May is a beautiful month in America. The weather is warm and sunny, and the flowers are in bloom. People are starting to get excited for summer, but there are still plenty of things to do in May.
One of the most popular activities in May is going to the beach. Americans love to soak up the sun and swim in the ocean. There are beaches all over the country, from the warm waters of the Gulf Coast to the cool waters of the Pacific Northwest.
Another popular activity in May is grilling out. Americans love to fire up the grill and cook up some delicious food. Whether it's burgers, hot dogs, or steaks, there's nothing like a backyard barbecue on a warm spring day.
May is also a great time for festivals. There are festivals all over the country, celebrating everything from food to music to art. Some of the most popular festivals in May include Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day. Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday that celebrates the victory of Mexico over France in 1862 at the Battle of Puebla.
May is a great month to enjoy the outdoors. There are so many things to do, from hiking and camping to biking and fishing. So get out there and explore all that America has to offer!

We talked a little about May today (although it is the end of the month). We are happy to be welcoming a new teacher to our team, Dana Sensei. We will learn as much about Dana Sensei as we can and I am sure you will be hearing more about her very soon. Unfortunately we will be saying goodbye to Megumi Sensei. It is very sad and we all have great memories with Megumi sensei so let’s wish her good luck in the future! Thank you for everything Megumi Sensei! Good luck and we hope to see you soon!
